NMAST believes that participation in our professional organization is one of the best ways to have a voice and be recognized as an important and equal entity in the surgical setting. To inspire continued engagement and encourage growth in our profession we award scholarships annaully at our business meeting. We raise these funds ourselves by holding raffles at our state conferences. We encourage every who is elegible to apply.
We are now accepting applications for our 2026 student scholarship essay contest. In order to apply for this scholarship, you must be currently enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
To enter: Submit a 250+ word essay in PDF format on what/who has inspired you to want to become a surgical technologist, along with a letter of recommendation from a Program Instructor and/or Director. Please submit your entries, along with your current mailing address, to [email protected] by February 20th, 2026. Late entries will not be considered. Prizes are as follows:
First Place: $500
Second Place: $250
Third Place: $100
The Three (3) Winners will be announced at the Spring Into Wellness conference February 28th, 2026 and on our Facebook page. Our Scholarship Committee is looking forward to reviewing your entries! We wish each student well and best of luck!
